According to the announcement issued by HC SemiTek on Jan. 6, Mr. Liu Rong resigned as the president of the company for personal reasons, but still remains as the vice chairman and a director of the company’s board of directors. The company announced that the board of directors hired Mr. Zhou Jianhui as the company’s president.

According to the company, the company and the board of directors extended their sincere gratitude to Mr. Liu Rong, who contributed tremendously to the company during his tenure as president. 

Mr. Zhou Jianhui, the new president, is a senior technical executive in the optoelectronic sector. Prior to joining HC SemiTek, Mr. Zhou Jianhui served as the senior vice president of Finisar Corporation, a global leader in optoelectronic devices, in charge of global sales. Before that, he served as the CEO of Broadway Networks, and worked for well-known companies and institutions including CIENA Corporation, ONI Systems, and Lucent Technologies Bell Labs successively. He was in charge of areas including R & D, product line management, marketing, and sales. Mr. Zhou Jianhui obtained a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in applied physics from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and a doctorate in applied physics from the California Institute of Technology. He won the Gold Prize of Bell Labs Award in 1998 and holds many American patents.
