The 2019 Annual Conference and Academic Report Conference, sponsored by Zhejiang Solid State Lighting Industry Association and Hangzhou LED Association, co-sponsored by Yiwu Information Optoelectronic High-tech Industrial Park, and organized by HC Semitek, were held at the tiered lecture room of HC Semitek Limited, Zhejiang on Mar. 1, 2019. The leaders of Yiwu Information Optoelectronics High-tech Industrial Park, the president of Zhejiang Solid State Lighting Industry Association, the president of Hangzhou LED Association, and the president of Zhejiang LED Display Application Branch attended the conference. Representatives from upwards of 50 companies including HC Semitek, Refond, Hangzhou Dongshang Optoelectronics and Ningbo Tianju Optoelectronics also participated in the meeting.

The meeting started at 9:40 a.m. The first speaker is Director Jin form Yiwu Information Optoelectronics High-tech Industrial Park. Director Jin introduced the achievements of Yiwu Information Optoelectronic High-tech Industrial Park since its inception at the end of 2016 and the future development and direction of the zone. He sincerely invites the companies to settle in the park.

Afterwards, Mr. Jiang Zhongyong, the President of Zhejiang Solid State Lighting Industry Association; Mr. Tan Biao, the President of Hangzhou LED Association; and Mr. Feng Zhaoliang, the President of Zhejiang LED Display Application Branch, delivered speeches at the meeting. The three presidents shared the current status and development trends of the light source/LED industry, and talked about their industry experience and cases based on their own practices. This is of great benefit to the guests present. 

Academic reports from the companies are the highlights of the meeting. As the LED industry is on a downward trend, in what ways can companies cope with the situation and achieve sustained growth? Dr. Zhang Yi from HC Semitek Limited, Zhejiang delivered a speech on the “Research Progress in High Luminous Efficiency LED Lighting and New LED Display Chip Technology”, exploring the future trend of the LED lighting market. It is well received by the participants present. Dr. Zhang explained the advantages of high luminous efficiency LED lighting using the case study of domestically made 1.2m T8 lamp tube. If 90lm/w lamp tube is replaced by 150lm/w, the overall cost for a lighting period of 25,000 hours will be saved by 15.7 billion yuan. A significant progress in the LED industry, it is also major technological achievement that benefits the people. 

Hangzhou Dongshang Optoelectronics introduced “Development and application of diffractive optical elements”. The improvement of stray light inhibition technology achieves more clear and targeted light without astigmatism. Ningbo Tianju Optoelectronics Technology introduced “single-chip integrated ultra-high-power LED chip and light source”. Hangzhou Zhenpeng Technology shared the “introduction to intelligent integrated management technology and case study”. Many well-known companies in the industry shared their unique technology and new products at the scene.    

Wonderful reports are followed by discussions. The survival and development of a company are inseparable from technological innovation. Companies learn from each other and spur growth through exchanges.
